Intel Core i7-7740K Breaks Records With 7.5GHz Overclock
The Intel Core i7-7740K is already earning considerable attention among the developers. Recently, three teams of Overclockers captured 7.5 GHz for the new Intel Core i7-7740.
The new processors of the Intel Kaby lake are the subject of recurring conversation this summer.
The American company recently introduced the seventh generation of Intel Core and with the launch of the new Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7, without the wasting time, to take the overflow enthusiastic processors to extreme level, the boundaries of physics Started testing.
After the achievement of Intel Core i9, it is now the core i7 turn.To reach such a high clock speed (the i7-7740K normally has a base clock speed of 4.3 GHz), some serious cooling was needed, and liquid helium took temperatures down to -250 degrees Celsius.
It was done with the help of the Gigabyte X299-SOC Champion motherboard, as well as 16GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM, and a Corsair AX 1500i power supply.
The multiplier was taken up to x75, while the bus speed was kept at 100 MHz and the voltage remained at 1.096 V.
There’s a diminishing marginal return at the extreme end of overclocking, where the amount of cooling you need to apply is inversely proportional to the gain from applying it.
Lab501 did a comparison of the Core i7-4790K and the Pentium G3258 a few years back, to see how they would handle under overclocking pressure.
World records were also broken in 3DMark03, 3DMark06, and Aquamark with an added Aorus GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition and G.Skill Trident-Z 3600C17 RAM.
Plus, two of those graphics cards were used to set a further global first place score in 3DMark06.Of course, it's early days, and these records could yet be bested.
So, what do you guys think of this record. Let us know in the comment box below.
